The Time Capsule
Earlier today I was invited to take part in Age Concerns Time Capsule Project. The work was all in aid of the United Nations International Day of Older People. The plan was for a meeting of old and new minds. My job was to assist people in making entries to the Time Capsule.
And it is The Time Capsule Project I want to talk to you about.
Put simply like its buried in the ground equivalent, the Time Capsule website seeks to collect things that represent every day life. It is a collection of pictures of stories that cover the social history of British folk from the 1800’s through to the present day. It’s contributors are the very old, the very young or just those who are interested in or have collected some fascinating snippet from somebodies life. Some of the entries seem trivial - yet remind of us how much and how fast life changes and some capture moments of such emotional intensity that they are truly moving.
