Keeping The Faith

Category: News and Announcementsrob @ 10:55 pm

It’s a new year and an important one for Shared Creation.

Just over a year ago Shared Creation started as a hotch potch of ideas that eventually evolved into the format of a double headed blog. The original experiments didn’t have real legs, but the twinned blogs seemed to make sense. So entries were added. Over time more entries were posted. Shared Creation gained a very small number of additional correspondents, but a much larger number of readers. So the writing continued. At times there were delays between postings. Usually caused by having my fingers in a good many pies. Over the last year I’ve pushed Shared Creation, gained an additional photography qualification, worked on the Consumed Movie, and gained Microsoft Certification in solutions development.

Busy. Too busy really.

So that means an apology to my readers is in order. If my activities have caused too many breaks in posting then please accept my apologies.

Still I continued to find things to write about and continued to put effort into the Consumed Movie. The year swung on. Then something surprising happened. Shared Creation Projects gained a sponsor. It seemed that the steady gain in readers had gotten Shared Creation noticed.

That was quite a feeling. It felt accomplished.

Of course it didn’t change the fact that there are more postings to get done, articles to right and complete. Or that we need to find more projects to cover. Yet I know these are all going to come, simply because after the last year I have faith. Really unshakeable faith that something good is going on here. So it will continue. Faith will make it so.

The Consumed project has hit its own series of highs and lows. At times looking unstoppable and at others dead in the water. It has just gained a great shooting location for doing a short that will help us in completing the finished film. So in Consumed I also have faith. Thats a good thing. Consumed mirrors Shared Creation in many ways. Shared Creation has been the primary organ for talking about the film and I have a suspicion that the this mirroring of each other has helped out Shared Creation. To me that says - lets make sure Consumed comes out good…. lets keep the faith.

Faith is key to a creative project. Very often the artist has to work for a long time to a state of isolation. Its hard to be upbeat without some positive feedback. Without feedback the negative thoughts can work on one. Too much negativity can cause mayhem to the point of the project collapsing.

So in 2007 I will keep the faith in my projects and try to create something good. To build on 2006 into something better.

I will also help you keep the faith in your own work. Let me know what you are doing and I will do my best to cover it. I’ll try and do my little bit to help you keep the faith.

Jet Santa

Twas the night before Christmas and all throught the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse

Then all of sudden with a clicking and clacking a lone blogger leapt, a got a posting.

Tis a time to say thanks to all who have read

Tis a time to say thanks to all who’ve had a word.

Or in other plainer words

Shared Creation would like to thank all of its readers, contributers and sponsors for a good first year, and to let you know that we plan for a great time in 2007.

So a big thanks to everyone (and a special mention to our sponsors at Shopzilla).

Have a great Christmas and may 2007 be very special for you.

Spreading the Castingnet

Category: News and Announcements, Resources, Webrob @ 8:24 pm

I rarely have difficulty figuring out where to place an entry. Then I heard about castingfirst.net and realised that it had to go into both magazine and projects sections of Shared Creation. So here is a quote of the entry in the Magazine. Enjoy

We’d like to introduce you to castingfirst.net Putting it simply this is a free resource where you can post / advertise for castings, notices and jobs for your next project, event or gig. Registration to use castingnet is free, and its aim to bring together the world wide entertainment community is honourable in the extreme.

Check it out.

A Return

Category: Art, Photographyrob @ 6:17 pm

A case of shameless self promotion.

I’ve been away from my art blog for far too many months. The pressures of being a projects person….

A far too involved in too many projects person. Actually I lost impetus during my recent trip to India and its taken me a while to get back into the photography and digital art thing. Hopefully though this new picture will mark a change that sees more frequent and more original pieces put on line.

You can view it at:

I hope you like it.

To get back into the photography thing you can review the latest photography equipment on our site.

Campaign for Free WiFi

Category: News and Announcements, Webrob @ 10:19 pm

Led by Channel 5’s The Gadget Show the Campaign For Free Wifi has a simple aim. To get a free WiFi service into every major town and city in the UK – with the stated primary aim of making life easier for anyone who relies on the Internet.

It’s a campaign that has been going for a little while and that is having some impact, to the point of the show being asked to provide evidence to the government.

Of course this campaign is being heavily tracked by technology sites and blogs.

It is also a campaign of great importance to the creative community. After all WiFi equals communication, and if you are creating you are communicating.

So I say – take a look at their website and join the campaign. This is that rare thing –something for everyone.

Leaves on the Track

Category: News and Announcementsrob @ 1:01 pm

There’s been a delay in completing the steadicam article. This has been caused by a combination of having to prioritise other work over it and sorting out some pictures of the steadicam being used. Hopefully I’ll get this article up soon for you and complete the series. I’d like to apologise for the delay.
