Consumed Progress Report
It’s time to mention how things are going with the Consumed project.
Fortunately it’s good news. In the last couple of months we’ve been looking at avenues for help and most critically refining the story. Most of the focus has ended up on the scripts. We feel the scripts and the story are critical. Shooting will be low budget, with time constraints and limited rehearsal opportunity for actors. These are all factors that can reduce quality in the final movie. That’s something we want to avoid and so we are targeting the fundamentals. That means getting a great story together.
We’re also looking at our release schedule. The decision has been made to release a short pilot before doing the detailed mini series episodes. The pilot is a compression of our story but should make interesting and exciting viewing. It’s hoped that we can use it generate interest in future episodes.
Work is also afoot to run some video blogs. More news in the not so distant future. These are getting closer.
Now for the really big news. We have been out to a location in the Brecon Beacons with most of the core crew and a video camera (a Sony mini DV). The objective was to take a look at how segments of our story looked when filmed. Effectively a test using the backstage crew as cast. What a test it was! Out on top of a mountain we checked the framing and location requirements for a major fight scene, some chases and atmosphere sequences. Critically both our action and mood shots were looking very good indeed. The day out exhausted our director and producer; who were tasked with running up and down steep hills time after time; but the end results were worth it. We got some great footage. We also got some great material for a future blooper reel. We’re going to keep all this rough footage and it should if all goes well you should get a chance to see it in the future.
All this means that things are going well and we are gearing up for summer shoot. We are getting closer to unleashing our zombies.
