Coming from one of the creators of Pirate Bay and picking up a fair bit of interest is Flattr - a combinator of social media and payments that allows you to support people who create things you like. They make it, you like it and so you send a small payment. Its personal and social patronage for creative people. It looks interesting to me and perhaps a little ironic that a matey from Pirate Bay is behind it
