I’ve recently seen a mention of Hijacker films in the bloc newsletter. There’s no website and only a little information. However my gut feeling is that this could be very useful - as they provide film projects to youth and community groups. So if you have a film project that is good for production in the community arena then please contact them. Here are the details on the bloc website.
A quick mention of something that almost got away
Celtx media pre-production system recently hit version 1 and is available for download. I started playing with Celtx some time ago and still think it is a good solution to the problem of filing and sharing all of the production details for things such as films, plays, LARP, books, comics, video casts.
It is also free.
If you’re looking for something to really help organise everything for a production take a look at Celtx at http://www.celtx.com/
The makers of the hit fan / open source film - Star Wreck have produced a web site to assist amateur film makers. At the moment it really only serves their projects - such as the much anticipated Iron Sky, but in the future there are plans to open this up to all film projects. It is called http://www.wreckamovie.com/
So at the moment if you want to get involved in collabaraive film-making take a good look at WreckaMovie. They call it the future for film-making and have a good point. More films will get made in more imaginative ways. The future is looking very good for independant producers.
