Tank.tv a web site that specialises in showing new and original works from artists working in the medium of the moving image is running a series of three competitions to find new work for a series of exhibitions planned in 2009.
Entries must be no more than 10 minutes long and submitting artists must have a body of work consisting of 10 more pieces of moving image work to enter.

Good luck with the short films
Good news for Welsh Filmakers; the West Wales School of arts (in Carmarthen) and Oriel Myrddin Gallery will be staging a selected show of film in March 2009. This means that they need short films and this could mean you if you are a film maker either working in Wales or in the medium of Welsh.
- In order to enter your film needs to fulfill a few criteria
- It must be no more than 5 minutes long
- It must be on the theme ‘My Place’
- It must be supplied on a PAL DVD
- A films must be able to be showed via single channel projection - so this excludes any multi screen films.
- You must supply a CV, a short artists statement and an official application form.
The closing date for applications is the 31st of October this year.

To mark National Adult Learners Week from 17-23 May the Cardiff Centre for Lifelong learning is holding a Photographic Competition open to all current and recent students
The winner will receive a voucher entitling them to 50% off any photography course run the Cardiff Centre for lifelong learning.

This is a prestiguous competition and well worth entering. This year the first prize is £15000.
