The makers of the hit fan / open source film - Star Wreck have produced a web site to assist amateur film makers. At the moment it really only serves their projects - such as the much anticipated Iron Sky, but in the future there are plans to open this up to all film projects. So at the moment if you want to get involved in collabaraive film-making take a good look at WreckaMovie. They call it the future for film-making and have a good point. More films will get made in more imaginative ways. The future is looking very good for independant producers.

Its almost time for the Swansea Film Festival which this year runs from May 31st to June 7th.

This is the 3rd year of the Swansea festival and it seems to be growing and getting bigger and better. A quick look of what is on other certainly seems to confirm the trends that Wales is a great place to make films and also that there is a huge amount of talent emerging at a grass roots level.

In fact its getting too big to go fairly into detail regarding the festivals content so instead here’s the main web site and here is the list of screenings.
