All this week the BBC’s flagship Breakfast program on BBC is running a series on what you can create at home. It kicked the series off with good coverage of the One Man Movie. This may be a short series of mainstream articles of interest to being getting into being creative.
The series is on the Breakfast show which starts at 6am unfortunately I don’t have broadcast times for these articles. Hopefully over the next few days information will start to appear on the BBC website.
Covered today by the BBC’s breakfast TV show, and undoubtedly going to be more exposed as a result is the One Man Movie - "Madness In the First Degree"
It is basically a film produced by one man - and when I say one man - I mean the same man acting, directing, doing the artwork, SFX, Producing - the whole shebang on his own. It is being billed as the worlds first one man movie.
I’m listing it here as it must be of interest to anyone into home production.

The first Ampersand event of 2008 is Online Gaming with Doctor Who. The event will be a discussion by Mark Johnson the creative director of Sequence - the digital agency responsible for creating the online games used by the BBC to entertain fans of the show. During the event he will talk about the suite of games and the challenge of linking each one to an episode in the series.
This should be a fascinating event, looking at the links between TV, the Internet, gaming and marketing.
It takes place on Wednesday 16th January at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. For more details take a look at the amperSand website
A very merry Christmas to our readers
and a Happy and Creative new year
Or to be more accurate - win a chance to play at the world famous Glastonbury music festival.
This is an opportunity for an unsigned band or artist to play on the Pyramid, or the Other stage at the festival. It works like this. New bands must upload their entry to the competition web site by January 27th 2008. A selection process will follow where the judges will pick out 12 finalists. The finalists will then battle it out by playing a 20 minute set at the Pilton Workings Men club near Glastonbury. The winner gets to play at the festival next year. All the finalists get paid £150 fee and the finalist will receive £500.
There is a fee of £11.75 to enter - a bit of a shame but then that is not so unusual for festival competitions and as fees go it is not so large.
The final view - well for a band - nothing can beat playing at Glastonbury so it has to a must enter competition.
