it is perhaps not often enough that tools for writers get mentioned here. Mainly I think because for a long time a handful of products have dominated the tools used by authors. The rise of blogging, online and open source tools is changing that dynamic though so that in the future writing tools will have to be addressed more closely.
The first of these that I really need to bring your attention to is ScribeFire. Perhaps one of the very best tools for collating notes and publishing text to blog that I have seen. It is free. It works as an add-on for Firefox and provides a very fast to access full featured editor, multiple blog manager, tag manager, note manager and FTP tool all bundled together. I discovered it by accident but it has fast become a favourite of mine. So if you use Firefox and you need assistance publishing to blogs or even just taking notes as you work - go and look at Scribe Fire.

Artsway - an arts project in the New Forest is seeking submissions for an open exhibition being held between December 08 2007 and 10 February 2008. This is an open call to all artists at any stage in their career. Work will be shown in the Artsway Galleries and one artist will be selected for a solo exhibition in 2008.

Friday August the 31st sees a new exhibition a the Turner House Gallery in Penarth. Entitled Material Industries this is a new collection of works by Maurice Broomfield. The pictures are a distinctive capturing of workers in often heavy industries.
