The Digital Media Consortia are planning a couple of events in Wales that may well be of interest to Shared Creation readers. You can get full details of planned events from :

Firstly is Pitching for Television. If you are hoping move into the fascinating and fast paced world of TV production then this course could be a must visit for you. In one day it will cover items including how to pitch, what to avoid when pitching, and examples of what has worked in the industry. Must have knowledge as no matter how skilled you are if you don’t know how to talk to the industry you probably won’t get too far. Full details on this course which runs on July 10th 2007 can be found here.

The other item from the digital consortia involves Uk market leaders Games Workshop. Many years ago I wrote some items for the Games Workshop magazine White Dwarf so I feel a tiny bit involved here. The actual course itself takes place over 2 days and covers the process of making a video game all the way from initial pitch to final creation of the product. Its aim is to help future writers and developers integrate themselves into the industry. The course is titled ‘ Writing for Games Workshop’ and does indeed sound like a good way to get involved in this industry by learning from a company that has existed for over twenty years. You can find details on this course here.
