The Ongoing Story

Category: Development Blog, Shared Creation NewsRob @ 10:44 am

I suspect that the story of development in Shared Creation will never really end. We’ll just keep revising things over and over and learning from what our members want.

I do have a list of requirements for usability. Mostly these involve putting more information into the Dashboard and revising how passwords work between Projects and the Journal. However I’m going to hold off on these for a little while. There are two reasons for this. Firstly there is some other less obvious back end work to do - I’ll update you all when that is due and also I have to schedule in some work that involves support for our members, and also adding content and other work for the Consumed project.

The reason I’m putting this other work ahead is that distribution on Shared Creation is increasing, and I see helping to add content as being key to maintaining this. Since this site is all about helping through networking and publicity I see content and readership as being very important. It’s nice to have cool software. It’s nicer to distribute your postings more and more effectively.

This means that we’re hitting a stabilisation phase and moving away from development and more into support of our members and readers. Of course development will never stop, but it’s important to prioritise on what really matters.
