Danger - building in progress

Category: Development BlogRob @ 11:44 am

Here we are at the building site, listen carefully and you can hear the crash of steel girders falling from a great height. Actually it’s not that bad. The base CSS for page layouts seems to be complete. The installed components of the Forum and the Blog are installed. The Forum needs a lot of work - the basic discussion areas need to be laid out ready for the first users but the blog is in a fully usable state. I’m using it right now and over the build process I’ll update it as a matter of course. The main code for the primary section of the web site is not yet complete. I’ll be addressing this and getting it launch ready.

Launch ready is an important phrase. It does not mean finished. I suspect that I’ll be updating it for sometime. That’s Ok. The meat of this site will be the blog and forum. Why? That’s easy Shared Creation is about publishing information and discussion. For these functions I’m using tried and tested technologies. The rest of the site is support information. I’ll admit the support information may develop into a hosting and distribution application in it’s own right, but at the moment the focus is on information and talking.

So my priority is to get the publishing and discussions started. I’ll get on with it and keep you updated.
